What Exactly is Dedicated Hosting?

When we speak of hosting web servers, there are 3 major varieties - shared website hosting servers, VPS (virtual private web servers) and dedicated servers. Shared web servers host many clients and thus the resources per web hosting account are restricted, VPS packages give you more server configuration liberty, but also influence other virtual private web servers on the hardware node if utilized imprudently, and dedicated servers give you the possibility to perform everything you decide without intervening with anyone else.

Why would you need a dedicated server?

Dedicated servers are typically much more high-priced than shared web hosting servers or virtual private web servers. Why would anyone, then, want to use them? The answer is very simple. If your company has a high resource-absorbing web page, or just has very precise web server architecture requirements, the proper option would be a dedicated server. Hardware specs

The Control Panel of your choice

Server monitoring and backup services

Last but not least, there is the matter of monitoring the dedicated server and of backing it up. In the event of a predicament with your dedicated server, like a non-responsive Apache or an outage, it is useful to have some kind of monitoring system enabled. Backups are also an additional option - the hosting provider offers you data backups on our own backup web servers. You could choose a type of RAID that would permit you to have the very same data on two server hard drives as a protective measure in the event of a hard disk drive failure, or in case someone whom you have ranted full server root access erases something by accident.
